چکیده

Abstract Context Early growth is associated with childhood adiposity, but the influence of lifestyle remains unknown. Objective This work aimed to investigate association profiles from high-risk pregnancies adiposity at age 5 years, taking into account and several antenatal/postnatal exposures. Methods prospective cohort study included 609 children born during Finnish Gestational Diabetes Prevention Study (RADIEL), recruiting women body mass index (BMI) greater than or equal 30 and/or prior gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) (2008-2013). Altogether 332 attended 5-year follow-up (2014-2017). Main outcome measures based on ponderal (PI = weight/height3), investigated using latent class mixed models. Adiposity was assessed anthropometrics composition (InBody720). Results We identified 3 profiles: ascending (n 82), intermediate 351), descending 149). Children had a higher fat percentage, ISO-BMI, waist circumference (P < .05) years. Ascending (β 4.09; CI, 1.60-6.58) 2.27; 0.50-4.03) were even after adjustment for age, sex, diet, physical activity, education, prepregnancy BMI. Similar associations existed ISO-BMI. After adjusting BMI (odds ratio [OR] 1.06; 1.01-1.12), primiparity (OR 3.07; 1.68-5.62), cesarean delivery 2.23; 1.18-4.21), intervention 2.56; 1.44-4.57). However, meeting goals exclusive breastfeeding months more lower odds growth. Conclusion Accelerated early in 5-year-old pregnancies, when adjusted lifestyle. Reducing deliveries promoting may be beneficial postnatal

Associations of gestational glycemia and prepregnancy adiposity with offspring growth and adiposity in an Asian population.

BACKGROUND Maternal obesity and hyperglycemia increase risk of obesity and diabetes in offspring later in life. OBJECTIVE We examined the relation between gestational glycemia and prepregnancy body mass index (ppBMI) with offspring growth in an Asian mother-offspring cohort. DESIGN Pregnant mothers undertook a 75-g 2-h oral-glucose-tolerance test at 26-28 wk of gestation. In 937 singleton o...

Placental Lipases in Pregnancies Complicated by Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM)

Infants of women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) are more likely to be born large for gestational age with a higher percentage body fat. Elevated maternal lipids may contribute to this. Placental lipases such as lipoprotein lipase (LPL), endothelial lipase (EL) and hormone sensitive lipase (HSL) are involved in transferring lipids from mother to fetus. Previous studies of expression of...

Sonographic measurements of subcutaneous fetal fat in pregnancies complicated by gestational diabetes and in normal pregnancies.

AIM To compare sonographic measurements of fetal fat tissue in pregnancies complicated by gestational diabetes (GD), with patients undergoing either a diet only or a combined diet and insulin treatment, to those obtained in pregnancies with a normal glucose challenge test. METHODS Forty-five singleton pregnancies complicated by GD but free of any other maternal disease known to affect fetal g...

Haptoglobin is associated with Gestational Diabetes Mellitus

The present study aimed at investigating the oxidative stress in patients with Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) by estimating Haptoglobin. Blood samples were obtained from 46 GDM pregnant women and 32 controls that were attending the out patient department of M.Y.Hospital, Indore. The lipoprotein profiles, HbA1c and Haptoglobin were measured in all the samples. Significant increase in Haptog...
